The Air Force Academy is hosting the 2015 West Zonal Junior National Tennis Championships July 1-6 at the outdoor tennis courts.
Nick Dargene has been named associate head women's tennis coach at the Air Force Academy, according to an announcement today from head coach Kim Gidley. Dargene will start on July 13.
The Air Force men's and women's tennis teams were each ranked ninth in the Mountain Region in the final ITA rankings. The men's team finished 10-12 overall this season while the women's team was 18-9 overall.
Air Force had four athletic teams earn NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) recognition awards this week, as announced by the NCAA office. The football program (980), hockey (998), lacrosse (996) and women's tennis (1,000) programs were all honored for being in the top 10 percent in their sports of all NCAA programs in Division I for APR.
Air Force senior tennis players Natasha Rizvi and Grant Taylor each earned the ITA/Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award, as announced by the ITA this week.
