Air Force Women’s Swimming Downed 148-84 By Colorado State


    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Colorado State women's swimming & diving team took first place in 9 of 13 events to defeat Air Force, 148-84, in a Mountain West Conference swim meet Saturday afternoon at the Cadet Natatorium. With the loss, the Falcons are 17-11 on the season and 0-2 in conference meets.

    Sophomore Julienne White took first for the Falcons in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:16.59. Classmate Lauren Bursey also took first, winning the three-meter dive with a score of 223.12. Junior Carly Omizo was the third Falcon to take first, winning the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:06.85.

    Air Force also took first in the 200 free relay, as Andrea Hyma, Lauren White, Rachael Miller and Lindsey Kirchhoff teamed up with finish with a time of 1:42.03.

    Second place finishes came from senior Julienne White in the 1,000 free (10:47.39) and sophomore Stephanie Hirst in the 100 breast (1:11.26). Falcon freshmen Emily Shanes (212.32) and Amy Get (197.25) finished second and third respectively in the thre three-meter dive.

    The Air Force women's team returns to action Jan. 6, taking on Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton, Fla.
