Falcon Women’s Swimming Remains In 9th Place After Day Two Action At Speedo Cup


    LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Air Force women's swimming team currently s remains in ninth place with 205.5 points at the 2004 UCI/Speedo Cup hosted by UC Irvine. Stanford currently leads the 17-team field with 1155.5 points.
    Junior Colleen Smith led the way for the Falcons with a 16th place finish in the 400 yard individual medley and a 14th place finish in the 200 free. Smith swam the seventh-fastest time in school history in the 200 free with a prelim time of 4:35.14.
    Sophomore Lauren White swam the 10th-fastest time in school history in the 200 free, placing 17th with a time of 1:54.59.
    In the 100 breaststroke, junior Carly Omizo placed 12th with a career-best time of 1:06.23. Freshman Rachael Miller was the top Falcon finisher, placing 30th with a prelim time of 1:00.59.
    The three-day meet concludes on Saturday.
