Falcons Lose Women's Swim Meet To Colorado State

    U.S.A.F Academy, Colo. -- The Air Force Academy women's swim team dropped a Mountain West Conference dual meet to Colorado State University, 190-110, Friday night at the Cadet Natatorium.

    Sandy Leaycraft led CSU by winning three individual events, the 100- and 200-yard backstroke races, and the 200 individual medley. In addition, she was a member of the Rams' winning 400-yard freestyle relay team. Kristin Schneider captured two races for Colorado State, the 200-yard butterfly and the 500 freestyle. She also led off the 200-yard medley relay, won by the Rams in a time of 1 minute, 49.49 seconds.

    Sara Crowell won two races for Air Force, the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke races, and finished second to Leaycraft in the 200 IM. She swam the 100 breaststroke in a season-best time of 1:07.73. Carly Baxter won the 200-yard freestyle race in 1:56.85 for the Falcons' only other individual swimming victory.

    AFA's Sarah Law won the 1- and 3-meter diving events with scores of 278.55 and 299.03, respectively. Lori Anderson of CSU finished second in both events.

    The Falcons return to action next weekend with a dual match at home against cross-town rival Colorado College on Friday, Nov. 17, at 4 p.m.
