Air Force Divers Head to Trojan Diving Invitational

    USAFA, Colo. - The Air Force men's and women's diving teams will head to Los Angeles, Calif., this weekend, Nov. 6-7, for the Trojan Diving Invitational, hosted by USC. Teams that are expected to compete this weekend, in addition to the Falcons, are host USC, Cal, Cal State Bakersfield, Hawaii, San Jose State, Stanford and UCLA.

    The event will start Friday at 10:00 a.m. with the men's 1-meter and women's 3-meter preliminaries. Finals for the men's 1-meter and women's 3-meter events are slated to begin at 11:15 a.m. Meanwhile, the combined men's and women's platform is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.

    The meet concludes Saturday, with the men's 3-meter and women's 1-meter events. Preliminaries are again scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the finals at 11:15 a.m.

    Among the top performers for the Falcons this season are seniors David Arlington (Eagle River, Alaska) and Kyle Van Valkenburg (Tucson, Ariz.), as well as sophomore Jesse Bicknell (Westtown, N.Y.). Arlington's score of 332.63 on the 3-meter board is the second-highest in the Mountain West Conference this season, while Van Valkenburg is third with a score of 329.10. Meanwhile, Bicknell owns the second-highest score in the MWC on the 1-meter board, after posting a mark of 308.33 last weekend.

    Meanwhile, Chelsea Tompkins (Sr., Grand Junction, Colo.), the lone diver on the women's side, is coming off a first place finish on 3-meters at last weekend's dual meet versus Mesa State.
