Air Force Women’s Swimming Goes 3-1 In Second Day At The Sun Belt Classic


    LAS CRUCES, N.M. -
    The Air Force women's swimming and diving team defeated New Mexico 140-103, North Texas 149-94 and Northern Colorado 130-113 while falling to Nevada 171.50-71.50 in day two action at the Sun Belt Classic. A trio of Falcons, Julienne and Lauren White and Lindsey Kirchhoff, led the way with first-place overall finishes.
    Senior Julienne White won the 1650 yard freestyle event with a time of 17:55.41, just edging out her younger sister, sophomore Lauren, who finished second with a time of 17:55.56. Freshman Tiffany Biddle took fourth in the 1650 with a time of 18:06.78.
    Kirchhoff, a sophomore, won the 100 fly with a time of 59.71. Senior Lara Styles followed up with a fifth place finish (1:01.90).
    After being out-touched by her older sister, Lauren came back and won the 500 free with a time of 5:12.10. Sister, Julienne, finished third with a time of 5:19.41.
    Junior Carly Omizo also swam well for the Falcons, taking third in the 100 breast with a time of 1:09.04.
    Freshman Danielle Dowds led the way for the Air Force divers, finishing fifth in the one-meter dive (199.20) and sixth in the three-meter dive (194.20).
    The Falcons return to action Thursday, Oct. 28, evening taking on Denver and Northern Colorado at the Cadet Natatorium beginning at 6 p.m.
