Air Force Women’s Swimming & Diving Announces 2005-06 Schedule

USAF Academy, Colo. -- Five home meets, including the Air Force Diving Invitational, highlight the Air Force women's swimming & diving schedule for the 2005-06 season, released today by head coach Casey Converse. The Falcons open the season Oct. 21 at New Mexico and host their first home meet on Oct. 29.

After opening the season on the road with a Mountain West Conference showdown at UNM, Air Force hosts a five-way meet on the 29th of October, hosting Metro State, Colorado School of Mines, Colorado College and Nebraska-Kearney.

In November, the Falcons travel to Texas for a pair of meets and also travel to California to take part in the Speedo Cup in Long Beach, Calif. Air Force swims against North Texas and Arkansas-Little Rock in Denton, Texas, on Nov. 4 and will swim at new MWC member, TCU, in Forth Worth, Texas, the following day, Nov. 5. The Falcons then head west to take part in the Speedo Cup, in Long Beach, Calif., from Nov. 17-19.

The Falcons have one meet in December, hosting Colorado State and San Diego State in a MWC three-way meet at the Cadet Natatorium on Dec. 3.

A full slate--that features five meets--welcomes AFA in January. The Falcons open 2006 in Boca Raton, Fla., swimming against Florida Atlantic and Purdue on Jan. 6. After swimming at Denver on Jan. 20, and at UNLV on Jan. 21, Air Force returns home to host BYU on the 26th and Utah on the 28th.

The Falcons wrap-up the regular season with a dual at Northern Colorado on Feb. 3 and their final conference meet against Wyoming on Feb. 4, in Laramie, Wyo.

The Air Force diving team will also participate in all of the Falcons' duals except the FAU/Purdue three-way. In addition, the divers will take part in the USC invite from Nov. 11-12, in Los Angeles and will again be hosting the AFA Diving Invite, running Jan. 27-28.

The Falcons will then take part in the 2006 MWC Swimming & Diving Championships, held Feb. 22-25, in Oklahoma City, Okla. This year's NCAA Championships takes place in Athens, Ga., from March 16-18.
