Air Force Women's Swimming & Diving Announces 2013-14 Schedule

USAF ACADEMY, Colo.- Eight home events highlight the 2013-14 Air Force women's swimming and diving schedule, announced today by head coach Casey Converse. Air Force will also host the 2014 NCAA Zone E Diving Regional.
The Falcons start the season earlier than usual, taking part in two open water competitions. Air Force will compete in the Horsetooth Openwater Swim in Fort Collins, Colo., on Aug. 18 and the La Jolla Rough Water Swim in La Jolla, Calif., on Sept. 8.
Air Force's first home event is the Blue/Silver Scrimmage on Sept. 26. The Falcons' first dual meet is Oct. 5 at New Mexico.
The month of October has AFA hosting four meets. The Falcons host Idaho and Kansas on Oct. 12. Five teams will compete at the Academy on Oct. 18, as Colorado Mesa, Colorado School of Mines, Nebraska-Omaha and Simon Frasier go head-to-head vs. AFA. The following day, Oct. 19, features Air Force going against Colorado College, CMU and Simon Frasier. The Falcons end the month hosting New Mexico State on Oct. 25.
The Falcons also have a busy November slate, competing in six different events. The diving team will host Wyoming on Nov. 1 and then join the swim team at Denver on Nov. 2. The diving team will also compete on its own at Arizona State on Nov. 9 and the Houston Invite from Nov. 21-23.
The swim team will participate on its own in two events in November, beginning with the Hour of Power Relay at Colorado College on Nov. 12. The swimmers then head to the Kansas Classic, Nov. 21-23, in Topeka, Kan., to round out their fall competition.
In December, several member of the swim team will look to participate in the U.S. Winter Nationals, Dec. 5-7, in Knoxville, Tenn. After breaking for most of the month, the Falcons will begin training for the 2014 season with a week in San Diego and La Jolla, Calif., taking on San Diego State and US San Diego on Dec. 30 and San Diego on Jan. 4.
The Falcons next host a two-day, four-way, Jan. 17-18, hosting North Dakota, Northern Colorado and Seattle. The Falcons also have a road meet with Cal State Bakersfield and UNLV in Las Vegas on Jan. 25.
The Falcon Diving program hosts the AFA Diving Invitational Jan. 30-Feb. 1. The swim team will have its final dual meet Feb. 1 at Colorado State.
Air Force looks to close out the regular season strong at the 2014 Mountain West Swimming & Diving Championships, Feb. 19-22 in San Antonio, Texas.
After conference, several members of of the team will swim in the Colorado Senior Open, Feb. 28-March 2, in Denver.
Following the conference and senior open meets, the Falcons will attempt to crack the NCAAs and CSCAA Invite at the NCAA Qualifying Invite, March 6-8, at a site to be determined.
Air Force will also host the 2013 NCAA Zone E Diving Regionals, March 13-15.
The NCAA Championships is, March 20-22 in Minneapolis, Minn. The season closes out March 23-25 with the CSCAA Invite in Dallas, Texas.
