Falcons Swimmers Honored by MWC
July 19, 2002 Eleven men and nine women from the Air Force swimming and diving team were named today to the 2002 Mountain West Conference Academic All-Conference team. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor to the team. A total of 158 student-athletes earned MWC academic honors in 2001-02, including 95 women and 63 men. BYU led the way with 34 honorees, followed by UNLV with 27, Wyoming with 24, Colorado State with 21, Air Force with 20, Utah with 16 and San Diego State and New Mexico with eight each. Seventy student-athletes earned Academic All-MWC honors for the second straight year.
