U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Five members of the Air Force women’s swimming and diving team  have been named Mountain West Scholar-Athletes for the 2015-16 academic year, as announced today by the league office.

The MW Scholar-Athlete Award is one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the Conference. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in a Mountain West sponsored sport.

Graduated seniors Jessica Horn (3.55, mechanical engineering) and Sara Menke (3.64, operations research) were joined on the team by rising junior Jinan Andrews (3.62, systems engineering) and rising sophomores Madeline Hoff (3.70, foreign area studies) and Georgia Sims (3.88, biochemistry).

Horn and Menke have been on the MW Scholar-Athlete team all four years. Andrew has been on the team both of her years at the Academy.
