Seven Swimmers/Divers Earn 2013 Academic All-MW Honors

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Seven members of the Air Force women's swimming and diving team were named 2013 Academic All-Mountain West selections, as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon. Three seniors led the way by earning their fourth all-academic honors.

    Seniors Rosie Mayou (Derby, Kan.) and Alexandra Trobe (Pittsford, N.Y.) led the way by winning their fourth academic All-MW honors. Junior Rachel Kennedy (Wasilla, Alaska) earned academic all-conference for the third time, while sophomores Kim Davis (Brentwood, Tenn.) and Clara Heffernan (Olympia, Wash.) earned their second. Freshmen Jessica Horn (Southbury, Conn.) and Sara Menke (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) earned their first all-academic honors.

    A total of 729 student-athletes were named to the spring 2013 Academic All-Mountain West team. Spring sports include baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, softball, women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis and men's and women's track and field.

    Air Force posted 65 student-athletes to the spring 2013 Academic All-MWC team. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
