USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Two Air Force women's swimmers earned Mountain West Scholar-Athlete honors, announced by the conference office today. Junior Alexandra Trobe and sophomore Rachel Kennedy earned scholar-athlete honors.
Trobe, a native of Pittsford, N.Y., maintains a 3.61 grade-point average and is majoring in Political Science. Kennedy, a native of Wasilla, Alaska, maintains a 3.90 GPA and is majoring in Biology.
A total of 471 student-athletes were honored, including 39 individuals who have achieved a 4.00 or higher cumulative grade point average over two or more terms, and 61 student-athletes who were recognized in multiple sports.
The MW Scholar-Athlete Award is one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the Conference. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in an NCAA-sponsored sport.
