Nine Swimmers/Divers Earn 2012 Academic All-MW Honors

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Nine members of the Air Force women's swimming and diving team were named Academic All-Mountain West selections, as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon. Three seniors led the way by earning their fourth all-academic honors.

Seniors Alison Ceranski (Marinette, Wis.), Elvira Chiccarelli (Panama City Beach, Fla.) and Lauren Delaney (Panama City, Fla.) led the way by winning their fourth academic All-MW honors. Senior Cassie Fletcher (Durham, N.C.) and juniors Rosie Mayou (Derby, Kan.) and Alexandra Trobe (Pittsforld, N.Y.) earned academic all-conference recognitions for the third time. Sophomore Rachel Kennedy (Wasilla, Alaska) earned academic all-conference for the second time, while freshmen Kim Davis (Brentwood, Tenn.) and Clara Heffernan (Olympia, Wash.) earned their first.

A total of 594 student-athletes were named to the spring 2012 Academic All-Mountain West team. Spring sports include baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, softball, women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis and men's and women's track and field.

Air Force posted 60 student-athletes to the spring 2012 Academic All-MWC team. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
