The Air Force women's swimming and diving team competes in the 2018 Mountain West Championships, Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 14-17, at the Palo Alto College Aquatics Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Several Falcons rank among the best in the conference. The Falcons' deepest event is the 200 IM as three Falcons rank in the top 15. Freshman Lexie Duchene is 10th (2:03.75), senior Jinan Andrews is 13th (2:04.34) and junior Emma Strom is 14th (2:05.10). Strom also ranks sixth in the 400 IM (4:21.78), the highest individual ranking in the conference by a Falcon this season.
Andrews also ranks 12th in the 100 free with a time of 50.63. Sophomore Lydia Knutson the school record holder in the 50 free, ranks seventh in the league in that event (23.20). Fellow sophomore Heidi Schellin is 12th in the 200 breast stroke (2:19.18).
A pair of freshmen rank in the top 15 in two events. Kylie Stronko stands eighth in the 200 back (1:58.43) and 14th in the 100 back (54.92). Jessica Wierzbicki ranks 13th in the 100 fly (55.50) and 15th in the 200 fly (2:04.08). Another freshman, Mollie Bushelman, is 11th in the 100 breast stroke (1:03.61).
