Air Force Diving Invitational Day One Results


    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Sterling Richards and Kelsey Patterson of Utah took first place in the three-meter dive in day one action at the 2006 Air Force Diving Invitational, Friday afternoon at the Cadet Natatorium.
    Patterson was the to diver in both the prelims and finals, scoring 298.65 points in the prelims and 303.15 points in the finals. Brittany Wainwright of Wyoming placed second with 298.80 points in the finals and Elyse Hall of Colorado State placed third with 266.35 points in the finals.
    Freshman Ashleigh Peck placed 15th for Air Force with 229.80 points. Danielle Dowds placed 19th with 217.20 points, Amy Get placed 22nd with 197.60 points, Lauren Bursey took 27th with 182.85 points and Meredith Leake took 28th with 166.85 points for the Falcons.
    On the mens side, Richards swept both the prelims and finals, scoring 363.85 points in the prelims and 357.50 points in the finals. Aaron Feight of Denver took second with 340.90 points in the finals and Andy Jones of Utah took third with 301.40 points in the finals.
    Junior Brady Lindberg was the top finisher for the AFA men, taking fifth with 280.75 points in the finals. Freshmen Randy Rogers placed 11th with 251.65 points and Patrich Sauncy took 16th with 184.95 points.
    The invite continues tomorrow with the one-meter dive scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the platform diving around 1 p.m. back at the Cadet Natatorium.
