Falcon Women’s Swimming & Diving Downed By New Mexico, 165-124
USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force women's swimming & diving team lost to New Mexico, 165-124, in a Mountain West Conference swim meet at the Cadet Natatorium. The Falcons fall to 19-14 overall and 0-4 in conference action.
The Falcons took first-place in six events, led by a pair of wins by juniors Carly Omizo and Colleen Smith. Omizo won the 100 yard breaststroke (1:07.68) and the 200 breast (2:29.79). Smith was victorious in the 200 freestyle (1:58.07) and the 200 individual medley (2:16.34). Also taking first for the Falcons was sophomore Lauren White in the 1650 free (17.56.59). Air Force also won the 400 free relay (Andrea Hyma, Lindsey Kirchhoff, Julienne White, Colleen Smith - 3:45.40). Freshman Amy Get was the top Falcon diver in the three-meter event, taking third (211.65), while sophomore Lauren Bursey finished third in the one-meter dive (209.99). The Air Force men's and women's swimming and diving team returns to action next Friday, Jan. 28 at BYU. --30--
