Air Force Swimming & Diving Swept At UNLV

    LAS VEGAS -- The Air Force men's and women's swimming and diving team was swept in a Mountain West Conference dual meet Saturday evening at Buchanan Natatorium. The Falcon men lost, 143-98, while the women were dropped 132-93.

    The Air Force men were able to place first in only four of 13 events. Junior diver Brady Lindberg led the way with a pair of first place wins. Lindberg won the one-meter dive with 241.43 points and the three-meter dive with 250.50 points.

    Juniors Chris Knaute and Paul Parmenter were the other two Falcon men to win their respective events. Knaute won the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 1:54.10 and Parmenter took the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:53.65.

    The Air Force women won five events from five different contributors.

    Freshman Jane Hwang won the 200 fly, clocking in with a time of 2:13.35 and classmate Laken Stogner won the 100 free with a time of 55.81. Sophomore Kallyn Johnson won the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:25.49 and classmate Tiffany Biddle won the 500 free with a time of 5:25.70.

    Junior Lauren Bursey was the top Falon diver for the women, winning the one-meter dive with 223.65 points and placing fourth in the three-meter dive with 223.65 points.

    Air Force returns to action next Thursday, Jan. 26, hosting BYU at the Cadet Natatorium, beginning at 5 p.m.
