Falcons With A Pair of Top 20 Swims Thursday at U.S. Winter Nationals

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.- Air Force women's swimming had a pair of top-20 swims in day one competition at the 2013 AT&T Winter National Championships in at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center on the University of Tennessee campus. Junior Kim Davis and freshman Genevieve Miller competed in finals action in their respective events.
Davis swam the 200 meter individual medley and came in 19th place with a `C' Finals time of 2:00.31. Davis improved five places from her 24th place prelim time of 2:00.31.
Miller placed 15th in the 500 freestyle with a `B' finals time of 4:48.78. Miller placed 13th in the prelims with a time of 4:47.43. Her prelim time set a new school record, surpassing the previous school record of 4:49.70, set by sophomore Sara Menke this past spring.
Menke also swam the 500 free, placing 30th with a prelims time of 4:55.05.
Four Falcons are slated to swim Friday in day-two action of the three-day meet. Senior Sam Laughlin will swim the 100 back. Davis will swim the 400 IM. Freshman Kira Schlosberg will swim the 100 breast and freshman Asia Antoniuk the 100 fly.
The heats are slated to begin at 9 a.m. (EST) and conclude with the finals at 5 p.m. For complete information, including live results, log onto USAswimming.org
