Falcon Women Take Fourth Place At Kansas Classic

    Day Three Results Get Acrobat Reader

    LAWRENCE, Kan. - Air Force women's swimming finished in fourth place at the Kansas Classic, hosted by the University of Kansas, Sunday at the Capitol Federal Natatorium. Freshman Genevieve Miller won the 1650 free for the Falcons.

    The Falcons scored 555.5 points in the three day meet. Kansas won the six-team meet with 932.5 points.

    Miller, junior Kim Davis and seniors Sam Laughlin and Gabbrielle Aranda led the way for the Falcons.

    Miller won the 1650 yard freestyle for the Falcons, cracking the Academy top 10 list twice in the same swim. Her winning time of 16:54.37 and her 1000 yard split of 10:16.46 were both the fifth-fastest times at USAFA in the 1650 and 1000 free events.

    Davis placed third in the 200 breast with a finals time of 2:19.53. She also placed fourth in the 100 free with a finals time of 52.10.

    Laughlin took third in the 200 back with a finals time of 2:03.46. She swam a prelim time of 2:02.60. Laughlin also swam a 200 back time trial on Saturday, swimming a season-best time of 2:00.34.

    Aranda won the 200 fly with a finals time of 2:08.20. Sophomore Jenna Tasic followed in the seventh with a finals time of 2:10.22 and prelim time of 2:08.50.

    The Falcons also had two more top 10 finishers in the 1650 free. Sophomore Sara Menke placed sixth (17:25.28) and junior Clara Hefferman was ninth (17:45.76).
