Falcons Fall to Colorado State, New Mexico in Dual Action
Oct. 27, 2007 USAFA, Colo. - The Air Force women's swimming and diving team opened the 2007-08 conference slate at the Cadet Natatorium on Saturday, dropping a pair of contests to Colorado State and New Mexico. The Falcons fell to the Rams, 204-92, while dropping to the Lobos, 217-77. Junior Jane Hwang (Irvine, Calif.) was the Falcons' top performer on the afternoon, winning both the 100 and 200 freestyle events, while finishing second in the 200 IM. Hwang clocked season-best times in all three events, finishing the 100 free in a time of 53.58, registering a 1:56.37 in the 200 free and swimming a time of 2:11.77 in the 200 IM. Also scoring top-five finishes for Air Force were freshmen Jessica Rodgers, who took fifth place in the 50 free with a mark of 25.51, and Kaeli Kluesner (Denver, Colo.), who finished fifth in the 200 back at 2:13.52. Kluesner also placed sixth in the 200 IM with a mark of 2:16.10. For the divers, Ashleigh Peck (Jr., Beaver Falls, Pa.) led the way, taking third place in the 3-meter event with a score of 245.95, while finishing fourth at 1-meter with a mark of 213.20. Meanwhile, senior Danielle Dowds (Huntington Beach, Calif.) scored at 221.10 at 1-meter to take third place in the event. The Air Force swimming and diving teams return to action next weekend, Nov. 2, when they visit TCU.
