Air Force Women's Swimming & Diving Falls Just Short At New Mexico State

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Air Force women's swimming & diving dropped a close 155-145 dual meet at New Mexico State Saturday. The Falcons took first in seven events, led by senior Haley Holcombe and freshman Sara Menke, who won two individual events each for the Falcons.
Menke dominated the distance events, winning the 500 and 1000 freestyle. She shaved over 11 seconds off her previous season-best in the 1000 free, clocking in with a winning time of 10:36.38. Menke won the 500 with a time of 5:07.79.
Holcombe won both butterfly events, winning the 100 fly with a time of 58.34 and the 200 with a time of 2:09.09.
Air Force also got winning swims in the 50, 100 and 200 free events, in addition to the 400 free relay.
The Falcons won the 400 free relay with a time of 3:34.09.
Freshman Jessica Horn was AFA's top diver, placing second in both diving events. Horn scored 212.03 points in the 1-meter and 222.90 points in the 3-meter.
Air Force has a short rest as it returns to action Monday night, hosting Nebraska-Omaha.
