Air Force Sets Two More School Records Friday at MW Championships

Day Three Results Get Acrobat Reader

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Two more school records fell for Air Force in day three action at the 2013 Mountain West Women's Swimming & Diving Championships Friday night at the Palo Alto Aquatic Center. The Falcons have now set eight school records total and currently sit in ninth place with 141 points.

Air Force set school records in the 100 butterfly and 400 individual medley.

Sophomore Kim Davis set a school record and placed third overall in the 400 IM. Her finals time of 4:13.42 broker her own school record by close to three seconds (4:17.24) and is also an NCAA `B' Standard Qualifying time.

Senior Haley Holcombe set a school record in the 100 fly and placed 10th overall. Her prelims time of 54.80 surpassed the previous record of 55.22 held by Connie Cann since 1997.

Air Force had seven top 10 swims on the day. In addition to her record-breaking performance in the 400 IM, Davis led-off the 200 free relay and swam the third-fastest 50 free time in school history with a time of 23.64.

Freshman Madelyn Huttner also swam well for the Falcons in the 400 IM, swimming a finals time of 4:27, which is the third-fastest mark at AFA. In the 100 fly, freshman Jenna Tasic swam a prelim time of 56.76, which is seventh all-time at Air Force.

In the 200 free, freshman Sara Menke swam a time of 1:50.79, which is the third-fastest in school history. In the 100 breaststroke, senior Katrina Castellanos swam the second-fastest time in school history with a time of 1:04.48.
