The Air Force women’s swimming and diving team finished the first day of the 2018 Mountain West Conference Championships, Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the Palo Alto College Aquatics Center in San Antonio, Texas. The Falcons are tied for ninth place with 98 points after the first three events.
Sophomore Eve Fowler qualified for the “B” final and placed 13th overall in the 1-meter spring board with 252.45 points.
In the 800 free relay, senior Jinan Andrews swam the first leg and her 200 free time of 1:49.41 is a personal best and the fourth fastest in school history.
"We had an amazing start to our meet," head coach Colleen Murphy said. "The 200 medley relay really set the tone, wwinning their heat and just missing the school record. The team looks great and we are excited for the start of individual swims on Thursday. Eve Fowler was great on the diving board, placing 13th."
Day two of the MW Championships continues on Thursday, Feb. 15. Fans can follow the tournament at www.TheMW.com.
