U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force women's swimming team fell in a sprint dual against Denver, 242-80, Saturday, Jan. 27, at Schlessman Natatorium on the campus of Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The unique format of this sprint elimination meet consists of three 50's of each stroke being swam to eventually whittle the field down to the four fastest swimmers. Before, in between, and after each round, the 200 medley relay, 200 free, 500 free, 200 IM, and 200 free relay are also swam.

Senior Elise Hart won all four heats she swam of the 50 butterfly, winning the finals with time of 24.45. Fellow senior Jinan Andrews placed second in the 200 IM (2:06.62). Sophomore Lydia Knutson advanced to the finals of the 50 free and placed second with a time of 23.20.

Junior Emma Strom reached the finals of the 50 back and was third in the finals with a time of 26.28. Sophomore Heidi Schellin reached the finals in the 50 breast and was third (30.18).

The Falcons are now idle until the Mountain West Championships, Feb. 14-17, in San Antonio, Texas
