Air Force Leads After Day One At Incarnate Word Invitational

    Day One Results Get Acrobat Reader

    SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Air Force women's swimming sits in first place at the Incarnate Word Invitational after day one action Friday at the Palo Alto Aquatic Center. Freshman Sara Menke led the Falcons with a win in the 500 yard freestyle.

    Air Force leads with 356 points, followed by Incarnate Word with 328 points and Texas-Permian Basin with 161.

    Menke led a strong 500 free group for AFA, by winning with a time of 5:05.87. The Falcons got a third place swim from sophomore Clara Heffernan and a fourth place finish by junior Erin Bleyl.

    The Falcons took second in the 200 free relay, 200 individual medley and the 400 medley relay.

    Air Force had four of the top five swims in the 200 IM. Freshman Madelyn Huttner led the way with a second place finish (2:11.71). Senior Haley Holcombe took third, senior Katrina Castellanos fourth and freshman Olivia Strom fifth.

    Day two action kicks off tomorrow morning, beginning at 9 a.m. CST.
