Falcons Go 4-1 Saturday In Second Meet vs. North Dakota, Seattle and Wyoming

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force swimming & diving combined to go 4-1 for the second consecutive day in competition against North Dakota, Seattle and Wyoming Saturday afternoon at the Cadet Natatorium. The Falcon women's team (10-4) swept UND and Seattle, while the men's team (10-5) downed UND and Seattle and fell to Wyoming in head-to-head competition. The Falcon women's team took first place overall in 8-of-13 events. Sophomore Kim Davis and sophomore Clara Heffernan led the way for the Falcons by winning two individual events each. Davis won the 200 yard individual medley and 100 freestyle. Heffernan won the 1000 and 500 free events. Air Force also had first-place swims by junior Hannah Cesare in the 200 free, senior Haley Holcombe in the 100 backstroke and sophomore Lainie Long in the platform diving. The group of junior Samantha Laughlin, freshman Leah Weber, Holcombe and Cesare also won the 200 medley relay. The Air Force men's team won three events, with freshman Michael Barnosky, sophomore Max Evans-Nolan and junior Alex Pecci earning wins for the Falcons. Barnosky won the 100 breast, Evans-Nolan the 1000 free and Pecci the platform diving. The Falcon men's swim team returns to action Jan. 25 at UNLV. The women's team next competes at the Incarnate Word Invitational the same day in San Antonio, Texas. The Diving program will host the AFA Diving Invite Jan. 25-26.
