Falcon Women Fall to SDSU and UCSD In Double Dual

    SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Air Force women's swim team dropped a pair of dual meet matchups, falling to host San Diego State (149-130) and UC San Diego (177-117) Monday, Dec. 30, at the Aztec Aquaplex.

    The Falcons (8-3) took first place in five events, led by freshman Genevieve Miller and junior Kim Davis.

    Miller was the fastest swimmer in the 500 yard freestyle (4:49.40) and 1000 free (10:23.19). Davis took first in the 200 breaststroke (2:22.35) and 200 medley (2:11.60). Senior Sam Laughlin also took first place in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:07.38.

    The Falcons got second place finishes from Laughlin in the 100 back (58.52) and senior Gabbrielle Aranda in the 100 fly (59.60).

    Air Force took second in the 400 free relay and in third in the 200 medley relay. The group of senior Erin Bleyl, Laughlin, Miller and senior Hannah Cesare swam the 400 free relay in a time of 3:36.96. The group of Laughlin, freshman Kira Schlosberg, Aranda and Cesare swam the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:47.94.

    The men's team also competed in the meet, defeating UCSD 166-127.

    The Falcons return to action Saturday, Jan. 4, at the University of San Diego (USD).
