Two Women's Soccer Players Named All-Conference

    Beth Boyer
Two Air Force women's soccer players were named to the all-Mountain West Conference team. Junior midfielder Beth Boyer was named to the first-team while senior midfielder Jennie Schoeck was named to the second team.

Boyer, a 5-foot-3 native of Waukee, Iowa, led the Falcons with 20 points and eight assists in the regular season. She added two goals in Air Force's 4-1 victory over UNLV in the first round of the MWC Championships, Nov. 1. With eight assists this season, Boyer already holds the school record for career assists with 18. The all-conference honor was the first of Boyer's career.

    Jennie Schoeck
Schoeck, a 5-foot-9 product of Air Academy High School in Colorado Springs, became the second Falcon to earn all-conference honors all four years. She was named to the all-conference first team three times and the second team as a senior. One of the most complete players in AFA history, Schoeck has also been named to the all-region team twice and was a freshman All-American in 1997. She ranks among Air Force's career leaders in goals, assists, points, shots and matches played. Schoeck scored two goals in AFA's 4-1 win over UNLV, in the first round of the MWC Championships in Las Vegas, Nov. 1.

Air Force, 6-13-1 overall this season, is the fifth-seed in the MWC Championships in Las Vegas this week. The Falcons upset fourth-seeded UNLV in the first round, Nov. 1. AFA was scheduled to play top-seeded and ninth-ranked BYU in the semifinals Nov. 2, but a power outage at the field forced the games to be rescheduled. The teams will play Friday, Nov. 3, at 1:30 p.m. The winner of the game will play in Saturday's championship game against the winner of Friday's Utah-San Diego State game.
