Murphy and Shanklin Named To ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team

    Air Force sophomores Bridgett Murphy and Krystin Shanklin were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District women's soccer team announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Both Murphy and Shanklin were second-team selections in District seven.

    Murphy, who missed seven games due to injury, started 8-of-11 games played at midfield/forward. The Melbourne Beach, Fla., native tied for the team lead with two goals scored. Murphy maintains a 3.36 grade-point average and is majoring in english.

    Shanklin started all 18 games for the Falcons, one of just four players to do so. The Thousand Oaks, Calif., native was one of Air Force's top middle defenders. Shanklin maintains a 3.35 GPA and is majoring in behavioral science.
