Air Force Women's Soccer Blanked 2-0 At San Diego State

    SAN DIEGO, Calif. - A pair of goals by Courtney Burns propelled San Diego State to a 2-0 win over Air Force in Mountain West Conference women's soccer action, Friday afternoon at the SDSU Sports Deck. The loss drops the Falcons to 3-11-2 overall and 0-4-1 in conference play.

    Burns put the Aztecs (6-6-5, 3-0-2 MWC) on top with an unassisted goal at the 18:32 mark, as she scored by putting back a deflection by AFA goalkeeper Jen Drew. Burns struck for her second goal in the 50th minute, scoring off of passes by Ashley Cooper and Amanda Swiader.

    The Falcons were out-shot 18-9 in the game and 10-5 in shots on goal. Sophomore Brittney Perkowski led the way for the Falcons with four shots, two on goal.

    Drew had eight saves in the loss, while Sophia Perez notched a five-save shutout performance for SDSU.

    Air Force concludes its regular season this Sunday, Oct. 24, with a match at conference leader UNLV in a game that kicks off at noon.
