Air Force women's soccer travels to Utah State on one-day's rest to makeup its postponed Oct. 4 match. The match, in addition to the Oct. 6 match at Boise State, were postponed due to the government shutdown.
Seven Games in 15 days
Air Force soccer will play seven games over its final 15 days of the regular season. After a pair of weekend home matches, the Falcons play four road matches in nine days, before the season finale, Nov. 1 vs. Wyoming.
Air Force has started at least four freshmen in all but one game. The Falcons have started seven of its 12 freshmen on the roster. Air Force started five freshmen in its last match.
Rost stepping in at GK
Senior Erin Rost stepped in to start for Air Force in their last match vs. Fresno State. Regular starter Kelly Stambaugh was unable to play due to sickness and is questionable for competition this week. Stambaugh's backup, junior Hannah Schwartz, is out for the season with an injury and freshman Kat Ascher was also out with an injury. Rost was on the team as a freshman, but spent the past three years as a member of the Wings of Blue, Air Force's jump team. Rost has made over 500 jumps in her career.
The Falcons travel to UNLV and Nevada this weekend. The Falcons take on UNLV on Friday, Oct. 25 and Nevada on Sunday, Oct. 27.
