The Air Force women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 match at San Jose State Friday evening at Spartan Stadium. The loss dropped the Falcons to 2-7-1 and improved the Spartans to 5-4.

Air Force Drops MW Opener at Fresno State
Air Force women's soccer dropped its Mountain West opener at Fresno State, 3-0, at Bulldog Stadium Sunday afternoon. The loss dropped the Falcons to 5-3-3, 0-1, while the Bulldogs improved to 3-7-3, 1-0.

Air Force Hosts San José State and Fresno State
Air Force women’s soccer plays host to San José State and Fresno State this weekend, Oct. 18-20. The Falcons take on SJSU on Friday, Oct. 18 at 6 pm and Fresno State on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 12 am. Livestats will be available for both matches.
Air Force dropped a 2-0 match Friday to San Diego State and 1-0 match Sunday to New Mexico.
Utah State and Boise State Matches Rescheduled
Air Force has rescheduled both of its matches that were postponed by the government shutdown. The Falcons will travel to Utah State on Oct. 22 and Boise State on Oct. 30. Air Force was originally slated to play Utah State on Oct. 4 and Boise State on Oct. 6.
Air Force returns 13 letterwinners and six starters. The Falcons welcome 12 freshmen.
Senior midfielder Leah Bratt and senior defender Loren Catchpole are the team captains for the 2013 season.
Young Falcon Squad
With a squad of 12 freshmen, Air Force has one of the youngest teams in the nation. The Falcons have started seven different freshmen this year. Air Force has started four freshmen in nine of 10 games.
Stambaugh Building Upon AF Records
Senior Kelly Stambaugh continues to build upon her lofty resume as goalkeeper at Air Force. A fourth-year starter, Stambaugh ranks amongst the top three in nearly every goalkeeping category at Air Force. She is currently the all-time leader in goals-against average (1.11). Stambaugh ranks second at the Academy in career shutouts (15), minutes (5,514) and saves (293) and third in wins (18).
Greco Leads Team in Assists
Freshman Ashley Greco has assisted on four of five Air Force goals so far this season. Her four assists are the third-most by a freshman in program history. It is the most assists by a frosh since 1998.
Scouting San José State
San José State is 2-12, 1-5 on the season after a 3-0 loss to Boise State and 2-0 loss to Utah State over the weekend. Forward Lupita Estrada leads the team with four goals. Zoe Makrigiannis has a 1.88 GAA in goal.
Scouting Fresno State
Fresno State is 7-7-1, 4-2 on the season after a 1-0 win over Utah State and 2-1 win over Boise State over the weekend. MF/D Morgan Castain leads the team with nine goals. Katie Devault has a 1.05 GAA in goal.
Larry Friend (USAFA 1985) is 24-51-10 in his fifth year as the head coach at Air Force.
Jeff Leightman (Binghampton 1995) is 42-59-11 in his sixth year at San José State and 144-125-32 in his 16th year as a head coach.
Brian Zwaschka (Grandview 1992) is 37-45-16 in his fifth year at Fresno State.
