USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force women's soccer senior defender Cassie Wilson was named Mountain West co-defensive Player of the Week, announced today by the conference office. This is Wilson's first player of the week honor and the second by an Air Force Falcon on the season.

Wilson was named co-defensive player of the week, joining New Mexico junior defender Lauren Irwin. UNLV freshman forward Jenna Howerton and Wyoming redshirt freshman forward Sara Paul were named Mountain West Women's Soccer Co-Offensive Players of the Week.

Hailing from Spring, Texas, Wilson led Air Force to 4-0 win over Nebraska Omaha and a 0-0 double-overtime draw with Northern Arizona last Friday and Sunday, respectively. Wilson was part of a Falcon defense that held both opponents scoreless through a combined 200 minutes of play. In Friday night's victory over Nebraska Omaha, Wilson played all 90 minutes, recording an assist on the Falcons' third goal of the match, while also holding UNO's leading scorer, Katie Pickinpaugh, to just one shot attempt on the evening. Against Northern Arizona, Wilson logged all 110 minutes, holding NAU leading scorer Sam Monahan to three shots.

Wilson is Air Force's second MW player of the week honoree, joining freshman McKenna Fox, who earned offensive player of the week honors on Aug. 22.
