    Air Force Travels To Crusader Classic
    The Air Force women's soccer team travels to Valparaiso, Ind., to play in the Crusader Classic. The Falcons take on IUPUI on Friday, Sept. 23 and host Valparaiso on Sunday, Sept. 25.

    Last Weekend
    Air Force dropped both of its matches last weekend. The Falcons lost Friday to Arkansas 2-1 and Sunday to Fresno State 2-0.

    Falcon Leaders
    Freshman forward McKenna Fox leads the Falcon with four goals and 10 points. Fox ranks second in the MW in goals and points. Senior forward Bridgett Murphy leads the conference with four assists. Sophomore Kelly Stambaugh leads the Falcons with 585 minutes at goalkeeper. Stambaugh has a 1.23 goals against average.

    First True Road Game
    Air Force plays its first true road game Sunday vs. Valparaiso. Air Force has played seven home games and will have played three neutral-sites matches before the Valpo match.

    Air Force is coming off one of its most successful seasons ever as a Div. I program in 2010, going 8-9-2 overall, its winningest season since 2001. The eight wins were more than the win totals of the previous three-years combined.

    2011 Falcons
    Air Force returns 12 letterwinners, including 10 starters from the 2010 team. The Falcons also welcome 13 newcomers, including 11 freshmen. Air Force returns leading scorer Stephanie Patterson, a junior forward and three-time All-MWC selection in Bridgett Murphy, a senior forward.

    Scouting The Opponents
    - IUPUI is 1-5-2 on the season after losses at Kent State (4-0) and Cleveland State (3-2) last week. Senior forward Megan Hock leads the team with three goals. Sophomores Kristin Haseley (1.47 GAA) and Giselle Guzman (5.20 GAA) have split goalkeeping duties.
    - Valparaiso is 5-3-1 on the season after wins against Green Bay (1-0) and Bowling Green (4-0) last weekend. Junior midfielder Rachel Hoaglin leads the Crusaders with five goals. Sophomore Kristen manski has logged the most minutes at goalkeeper for Valpo and has a 0.70 GAA.

    The Coaches
    - Larry Friend (USAFA 1985) is 15-29-3 in his third year as the head coach at Air Force.
    - Chris Johnson (St. Joseph's College 1991) is 62-78-14 in his 10th year at IUPUI. Johnson is 143-157-16 in his 15th year as a head coach.
    - John Marovich (Purdue-Calumet 1994) is 31-26-6 in his fourth year as a head coach.

    - Valparaiso has two players on its roster from Colorado.
