Air Force Women's Soccer Gears Up For Scrimmage With Colorado

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force Academy women's soccer team prepares for the 2011 season with a home scrimmage against Colorado this Friday, Aug. 12. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. at the Cadet Soccer Stadium. Attendance is free for all Air Force soccer home contests.

    After holding tryouts prior to the start of academic classes on Aug. 4, the Falcons made finals cuts and carry a strong roster of 25 players into the Fall season. Twelve returners are joined by 13 newcomers, including 11 freshmen, and excitement is high as the team prepares for its scrimmage against the Buffalos. Air Force returns 10 starters off the 2010 team that finished 8-9-2, its best season since 2001.

    Air Force opens the regular season on Friday, Aug. 19, hosting the Colorado School of Mines.
