Falcon Women's Soccer Announces 2013 Schedule

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo.- Air Force women’s soccer released its 2013 schedule, announced today by head coach Larry Friend. The 18-game schedule features nine home matches, in addition to games with in-state rivals Colorado, Colorado State and Northern Colorado.

    The Falcons will also play two exhibition matches in Taos, N.M., prior to the regular season, taking on Colorado Mesa on Aug. 16 and Fort Lewis on Aug. 19. Air Force opens the regular season at the Montana Kickoff Invitational Aug. 23-25 in Missoula, Mont., taking on host Montana on Aug. 23 and former conference rival TCU on Aug. 25.

    Air Force follows with back-to-back Fridays at in-state rivals Colorado and Northern Colorado. The Falcons travel to Colorado on Aug. 30 and Northern Colorado on Sept. 6.

    Air Force opens its home schedule on Sunday, Sept. 8, hosting Grand Canyon. The following weekend has the Falcons hosting Texas on Sept. 13, followed by Ball State on Sept. 15. Air Force closes out its four-game home stand and non-conference slate Sept. 22 against Drexel.

    The Falcons open conference play at new in-state rival Colorado State, which is in its first year as a Div. I program, on Sept. 27. The next weekend has AFA at new conference rival Utah State on Oct. 4 and Boise State on Oct. 6.

    Air Force then hosts San Diego State on Oct. 11, followed by New Mexico on Oct. 13. The following weekend, AFA hosts new conference rival San Jose State on Oct. 18 and Fresno State on Oct. 20.

    The Falcons play outside the mountain time zone for the first time all season when they head to the state of Nevada to take on UNLV on Oct. 25 and Nevada on Oct. 27. The regular season concludes Nov. 1 with a home match vs. Wyoming.

    The 2013 MW Championship runs Nov. 5-10 in Albuquerque, N.M.
