Three Falcons Earn MW Scholar-Athlete Honors

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Three members of Air Force women's soccer earned 2013 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete honors, annunced by the conference office on Monday, June 24. Sophomore Tory Gullo led the way with her second scholar-athlete honor.

    Joining Gullo were freshmen Katie Case and Sarah Falvey, who earned their first honors.

    A total of 57 Air Force Academy student-athletes earned 2012-13 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete awards. A league-record 623 student-athletes were honored, including 54 individuals who have achieved a 4.00 or higher cumulative grade point average over two or more terms. The 623 honorees surpass the previous Conference high of 581 in 2010-11.

    The MW Scholar-Athlete Award is one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the Conference. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in an NCAA-sponsored sport.
