Falcon Women's Soccer Announces 2012 Schedule

USAF ACADEMY, Colo.- Air Force women's soccer released its 2012 schedule, announced today by head coach Larry Friend. The 17-game schedule features 10 home games, in addition to a non-conference game at in-state rival Colorado. The Falcons will also play two exhibition matches at Northern Colorado, Aug. 11 and Aug. 13 in Greeley prior to the start of the season. Air Force plays its regular season-opener Aug. 17, hosting Lamar. That same weekend has the Falcons hosting Montana on Aug. 19. After an east coast road trip to St. John's (Aug. 24) and Fairleigh Dickinson (Aug. 26), the Falcons play at home for four consecutive weekends and six of its next seven weekends. Air Force hosts Eastern Washington on Parent's Weekend, Aug. 31. The following weekend has the Falcons hosting Robert Morris (Sept. 7) and Bryant University (Sept. 9). Air Force hosts its fourth-consecutive home match on Sept. 14 against Colgate. The Falcons then play at Colorado on Sept. 16. Air Force plays its final non-conference match Sept. 21, hosting Sam Houston State. The Mountain West portion of the schedule, entailing seven opponents, begins Sept. 30 at new conference rival Fresno State. The Falcons then host UNLV on Oct. 5, Boise State Oct. 12 and close out its home schedule against new member Nevada on Oct. 14. Air Force closes out the regular season with three straight road matches. The Falcons head to New Mexico (Oct. 19), San Diego State (Oct. 21) and Wyoming (Oct. 26). The 2012 MW Championship runs Oct. 31-Nov. 4 in San Diego. Six of the top eight teams will advance to the MW Championship.
