Three Falcons Named 2012 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Three Air Force women's soccer players Mountain West Scholar-Athlete honors, announced by the conference office today. Seniors Bridgett Murphy and Krystin Shanklin and freshman Tory Gullo earned scholar-athlete honors.
Murphy, a native of Melbourne Beach, Fla., recently graduated with a 3.52 grade-point average and a degree in English. Shanklin, a native of Thousand Oaks, Calif., recently graduated with a 3.57 GPA and a degree in Behavioal Sciences. Gullo maintains a 3.72 GPA and is majoring in Biology.
A total of 471 student-athletes were honored, including 39 individuals who have achieved a 4.00 or higher cumulative grade point average over two or more terms, and 61 student-athletes who were recognized in multiple sports.
The MW Scholar-Athlete Award is one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the Conference. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in an NCAA-sponsored sport.
