Air Force Women's Soccer Announces 2008 Schedule

USAF Academy, Colo. - Ten home games highlight the 2008 Air Force women's soccer schedule announced today by head coach Marty Buckley. The Falcons get things going by hosting a scrimmage with Colorado on Aug. 16 and open the regular season, Aug. 24 at Northern Colorado.

The Falcons are slated to play 17 regular season games and two preseason scrimmages. In addition to the scrimmage with CU, Air Force will also scrimmage Metro State on Aug. 22.

The regular season kicks off on Friday, Aug. 24, against UNC up in Greeley. The Falcons open their home slate the following weekend, hosting Idaho State (Aug. 29) and Valparaiso (Aug. 31).

Air Force continues its six-game home stand the following week with matches against Ball St. (Sept. 5) and Long Island University (Sept. 7). AFA then hosts the 2008 Falcon Invitational, taking on Army (Sept. 12) and Denver (Sept. 14).

The Falcons then hit the road for the UTEP tournament, taking on UTEP (Sept. 19) and Grambling (Sept. 21) in El Paso, Texas. Air Force wraps-up its non-conference slate hosting San Jose State on Sept. 26.

Mountain West Conference play opens for AFA on Oct. 3, as they head north to play Wyoming. The Falcons then host New Mexico (Oct. 10) and TCU (Oct. 12) the following weekend.

Air Force hits the road for its next three MWC games, taking on San Diego State (Oct. 17), UNLV (Oct. 19) and BYU (Oct. 25).

The Falcons wrap up the regular season hosting Utah on Oct 31.

Air Force will also be looking to participate in the 2008 MWC Women's Soccer Championships, held Nov. 5-8 in Las Vegas, Nev. The top six teams in the eight-team women's soccer league will make the tourney.
