Five Women's Soccer Players Earn All-Conference Academic Honors


    Five Air Force women's soccer players were named to the Mountain West Conference all-academic team.

    To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and be a starter of significant contributor to the team.

    Falcon seniors Rosie Costello, Stephanie Rader and Becky Wyffels were joined on the team by juniors Ali Tedesco and Carrie Wellman. Costello has a 3.34 GPA in environmental engineering and played in all 21 games with four goals and nine points. Rader carries a 3.06 GPA in geography and was second on the team with eight goals and 17 points. Tedesco has a 3.33 in social sciences and played in 20 games as a defender. Wyffels holds a 3.10 in behavioral sciences and was third on the team in scoring with 10 points. Wellman carries a 3.37 in political science and was second on the team with five assists.

    Air Force finished the regular season with a 6-14-1 overall record and placed fifth in the Mountain West Conference with a 2-4 record. The Falcons defeated fourth-seeded UNLV in the conference tournament.
