Four Falcons named to MWC all-academic team

Four Air Force women's soccer players were named to the Mountain West Conference all-academic team. Senior Wendy Emminger, sophomore Jennifer Ford, freshman Amanda Cleland and freshman Coogan Vick were honored for their performance in the classroom and on the field.

Emminger carries a 3.33 grade point average as a biology major. Ford has a 3.27 GPA in biology. Cleland (3.11) and Vick (3.16) have not yet declared a major.

A midfielder from Chandler, Ariz., Emminger played in 18 games and scored two goals on the season. Ford, a midfielder from Lakeville, Minn., played in 17 games. Cleland, a defender from Orland, Ill., played in all 19 games and started 18. Vick, from Puyallup, Wash., played in 17 games in the midfield. Emminger has been named to the MWC all-academic team all four years while Ford has been named to the team twice.

To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and be a significant team contributor.
