Air Force women's soccer dropped a 2-0 contest to Boise State in the opening night of the 2017 Mountain West Women's Soccer Championship at Johann Memorial Soccer Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev. The Falcons conclude the 2017 season with a 7-9-3 record.
The Broncos (13-5-3) scored second half goals in the 51st and 69th minutes, both by Raimee Shirle.
Air Force had 10 shots on the night, seven on goal. Junior Bre Robertson had three shots. Junior Kaitlyn Cook and senior Angela Karamanos, who was named All-MW Second Team yesterday, added two shots each.
Junior goalkeeper Jennifer Hiddink, who was named All-MW First Team yesterday, had four saves on the night. Hiddink set a school record with 120 saves on the season, surpassing the previous record of 117, held by Steph Jardine in 1994.
Air Force made it to the Mountain West Tournament for the first time since 2005 and the first time ever since the six team format.
The Falcons graduate five seniors off the 2017 team--Alex Kahalley, Angela Karamanos, Brooke Rittmann, Kaylee Shalongo and Kristen Shimkus.
