Rachel Fields scored the game's only goal with 7:06 remaining in the second overtime period Friday to lead the New Mexico women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Air Force at Cadet Soccer Stadium. With the victory, the 17th-ranked Lobos improved to 11-1-3 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the Mountain West Conference while the Falcons fell to 7-9-1 and 0-5 in league play.

Playing down a player after Zaneta Wyne received a red card during the first overtime, the Lobos capitalized when Brooke Ellison brought the ball down the right side and centered a pass into the box which deflected off Falcon keeper Kelly Stambaugh right to Fields, who fired a shot from 15 yards into the net. Wyne was sent off after going into a Falcon defender with her cleats up in the 96th minute.

Stambaugh was stellar in the net Friday, making six saves as New Mexico peppered the Falcons with 21 total shots and seven on goal. Jennifer Williams attempted a game-high seven shots for the Lobos. The Falcons, meanwhile, had six total shots and just two on goal, one each by Kaleigh Moses and Krystin Shanklin. Lobo goalie Kelli Cornell made two saves in recording her tenth shutout of the season.

The Falcons are back in action Sunday for their final home game of the season against TCU beginning at 11 a.m.
