SALT LAKE CITY - The Air Force women's soccer nearly upset the top team in the Mountain West Conference but Utah rallied to a 2-1 win Thursday night at Ute Field. The loss drops the Falcons to 2-11-2, 0-4-0 while the Utes improved to 10-2-3, 2-0-1. Air Force led 1-0 late into the match until Utah tied the match up with just 1:33 left in regulation. Adele Letro scored at the 88 minute and 27 second mark to eventually send the match into overtime. Letro struck again in the 99th minute, scoring the game-winning goal on a penalty kick. The loss overshadowed a gutsy effort by the Falcons. Senior Katherine Slogic scored the Air Force goal in the 67th minute to put them ahead 1-0. Junior Corbin Sanford and sophomore Ashley Collins were in on the assist. Sophomore Ashlee Curtis had four saves in the loss at goalkeeper for AFA. Lynzee Lee had one save for the Utes.
