USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force women's soccer played San José State to a 0-0 scoreless draw in Mountain West action on a frigid Friday night at the Cadet Soccer Stadium. The put the Falcons at 2-8-2, 1-2-1 and improved the Spartans to 3-12, 2-5.
The temperature at kickoff was 37 degrees.
After a nearly evenly-played match for the first 70 minutes, the Falcons took control late, but failed to finish on their opportunities. The shots were 11-10 in favor of Air Force in regulation. But the Falcons turned up the intensity late, with six shots in overtime to just one for San José State.
Senior Kaleigh Moses and freshman Ashley Greco led AFA with three shots. Moses and seniors Leah Bratt and Loren Catchpole had two shots on goal. Senior Kelly Stambaugh had five saves in goal, notching her second shutout of the season.
Air Force returns to action Sunday, Oct. 20, hosting Fresno State. Kickoff is 12 p.m. Live video streaming and stats will be available for the match.
