Air Force Falls To TCU, 2-1, In Nationally Televised Game

    FORT WORTH, Texas - The Air Force women's soccer dropped a 2-1 match at TCU in front of a national TV audience Friday night at Garvey-Rosenthal Stadium. The loss dropped the Falcons to 6-6-3, 1-1 and improved the Horned Frogs to 7-7-1, 1-2.

    TCU scored the game winning goal in the 72nd minute, just six minutes after Air Force had tied the match up.

    Brooke Kviz scored the first goal of the match in the 27th minute to put the Horned Frogs up early.

    The Falcons fought back and tied the game up in the 66th minute. Freshman McKenna Fox netted her team-leading sixth goal of the season off a a pass from junior Stephanie Patterson.

    The tie didn't last long as TCU's Katie Taylor scored the game-winning goal just six minutes later.

    Sophomore Kelly Stambaugh took the loss in goal for AFA, recording seven saves on the night. The Falcons had 10 shots in the match. Fox and Patterson led the way with two shots on goal each.

    Air Force played in front of its biggest crowd this season of 2,803 fans. The game was televised nationally on the Mountain West Sports Network (The Mtn.).

    The Falcons look to regroup this Sunday, Oct. 16, at New Mexico.
