Air Force Drops 1-0 Match To Boise State On Senior Night

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force women's soccer fell to Boise State, 1-0, on Senior Night at the Cadet Soccer Stadium Friday night. The loss dropped the Falcons to 5-5-3, 0-3, while the Broncos improved to 6-8-1, 1-2.

    Boise State scored the lone goal if the match in the 77th minute. Shannon Schueren re-directed a ball sent in by K.T. Clayton away from diving Air Force goalkeeper Kelly Stambaugh for the score.

    The Falcons had 10 shots on the night, three on goal. Felicia Sturgeon led the Falcons with three shots. McKenna Fox and Megan Dozier added two shots.

    Boise State had 18 shots, 10 on goal.

    Air Force honored its six seniors, including one manager, prior to kickoff. Manager Cody Felipe and players, Eryn Avjian, Charity Blanton, Kim Koeppen, Sophia Lockerby and Stephanie Patterson were honored for their contributions to Falcon women's soccer.

     

     

    The match kicked-off 30 minutes behind schedule due to a lightning delay.

    Air Force returns to action Sunday, Oct. 14, hosting Nevada in its home finale.
