USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 Mountain West Conference match at home to San Diego State Friday night at the Cadet Soccer Stadium. The Falcons drop to 2-9-2, 0-2-2 on the season and the Aztecs improved to 6-5-2, 1-0-0.
Jackie Ragudos' goal 5:13 into the match put San Diego State up early. Ali Lokanc sent a ball in from the left sideline, over the Falcon defense, and Ragudos was there to head the ball in from 12 yards out.
Heather Vandevanter made it a 2-0 game with a goal in the 81st minute. Ashley Young sent in a pass from the right sideline and Vandevanter was at the back side of the net for the easy header from five yards out.
San Diego State had 16 shots in the game and Air Force had 15. Junior Rachael Emory led the Falcons with four shots.
Ashlee Curtis had a career-high 10 saves at goalkeeper for the Falcons. Aubree Southwick had seven saves for the Aztecs.
Air Force returns to action Sunday, Oct. 14, hosting Wyoming at Noon.
