Air Force Drops 1-0 Match To UNLV

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force women's soccer fell to UNLV, 1-0, on Alumni Night at the Cadet Soccer Stadium Friday night. The loss dropped the Falcons to 5-4-3, 0-2, while the Rebels improved to 9-2-2, 1-0-1.

    Denali Murnan scored the lone goal of the match for UNLV in the 13th minute, as the Rebels extended their unbeaten streak to 10 games. Murnan got to a loose ball in the middle of the box off a corner kick and fired to the lower right post for the score.

    Air Force matched UNLV with 10 shots on the game, but could not find the back of the net. The Falcons best scoring chance came in the 10th minute off a corner kick. Leah Bratt took the corner from Sophia Lockerby and sent a header to the lower left post. UNLV goalkeeper Kylie Wassell made a diving stop to prevent the goal.

    Bratt led the Falcons with three shots on goal. Air Force also had two shots on goal from Stephanie Patterson. Kelly Stambaugh had one save in goal for AFA.

    At halftime, Air Force honored several members of previous Falcon women's soccer teams, including former head coach Marty Buckley.

     

     

    The Falcons return to action next Friday, Oct. 12, hosting Boise State for senior night.
